Drunk on Dickens

I was on Edmonds Street this weekend and saw something that represented "Victorian Cool" right in Burnaby, so I thought I would post it.
It's the "Oliver Twist" pub. I didn't take the time to stop and go inside, and I didn't have my camera on me. The best I can do is give you a map of how to get there from SFU.

And in searching for pictures of and information about the pub online (with no success), I discovered a BC Winery called "Oliver Twist Estate Winery". Its based out of "Oliver", B.C., and the "Twist" in the name comes from the fact that all the bottles have twist off caps. Clever, no? Dickens may be rolling in his grave over that one...

Project Summary

Just thought I would get things started with an introduction to how our project will work.

All five members of our group have access to the blog and will be continually posting articles, videos and photos that are examples of "Victorian Cool". We each have different categories we will be focusing on --music, fashion, theatre, novels and movies --but anything we find that relates to the Victorian era will be posted.

The end result should be a good variety of the ways Victorian culture is still "cool".
